Software Design Engineer in Test

Job Description:
We are looking for an individual experienced with and passionate for software test automation and white box testing techniques.  The ideal candidate will thrive in a team environment, working with developers, black box testers, and support team members to improve software quality and user experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Stay current with and advocate for best practices in software test automation
  • Research and make purchase decisions on test automation tools
  • Conduct performance testing and evaluation for large datasets
  • Engage early in the Software Development Life Cycle to automate testability of features
  • Design, implement, and maintain automated test plans and assure test coverage
  • Provide assistance with end user error report analysis, logging, and resolution

Skills: 

  • • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • • Experience with commercial off the shelf test automation frameworks
  • • Competency with automation scripting languages (such as VBScript, Javascript, Batch/Powershell, Perl, etc...)
  • • Experience with database query languages like SQL
  • • Familiarity with 3D concepts and software, such as AutoCAD
  • • Familiarity with the effects of firewalls, anti-malware, and other security applications on test environments
  • • Experience with virtualization and deployment technologies (Ghost, VMWare, VirtualPC)

Education & Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, management information systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of software test automation experience
